B&T Advisory in Bali!
By Peter Biazos, Managing Director
Collaboration, knowledge-sharing and a celebration of excellence in our industry
Travis and I recently attended a Conference in Bali, an event that brought together approximately 40 insolvency field professionals from Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. With only around 10 liquidators in the room, it was a diverse mix of financiers, insurers, accountants, and lawyers, a genuinely collaborative setting.
Two sessions stood out for me in particular. The first was on litigation funding, which highlighted the risks of pursuing actions without financial backing, particularly around adverse cost orders. The second was on mediation, where Alison Drayton shared fascinating insights on silent mediation and reading non-verbal cues, reminding me just how essential people skills are in our line of work.
Another highlight was being able to connect with our Jakarta-based staff, Eric and Tasya, who joined us at the conference. Having them there was a valuable opportunity to spend time together in person, strengthen relationships, and recognise the critical role they play in supporting our broader team.
Overall, the conference was a great chance to connect, reflect, and learn from others tackling similar challenges. It was time well spent, and a reminder that collaboration across disciplines is where we find the most value. The final night event at Potato Head was memorable!
